Thirty-two backgammon pieces in Natural Baltic Amber: sixteen in butterscotch Baltic amber — known in Europe as landscape amber for its opaque swirls of cream, honey and gold that read like a painted horizon — and sixteen in deep cognac amber with natural inclusions. A full set of 15 checkers per side, plus one spare of each color. Each face carries a carved spiral, and the set rests in a black lacquered keepsake box with gold clasps. The same pieces play a game of checkers just as well.

Baltic amber formed over some 44 million years. No two pieces share the same pattern of light, color or inclusion — your set cannot be repeated.

Every piece is shaped and polished by hand in our Brooklyn, New York workshop — no factory, no molds. KIZIMA® carries on the amber tradition of Königsberg, whose craftsmen created the 17th-century amber game board now in the permanent collection of The Metropolitan Museum of Art.

• Ships from: our KIZIMA® workshop in Brooklyn, New York — to the United States and worldwide.
• U.S. shipping: free on orders over $100; flat $6.95 on orders under $100. Delivery typically 2–7 business days.
• International shipping: from $25, calculated by weight at checkout; delivery 7–14 business days. Customs duties and import taxes are the responsibility of the recipient.
• Processing: in-stock orders are dispatched within 1–3 business days; made-to-order pieces may take longer.
• Tracking: a confirmation email with a tracking number is sent once your order ships.

Returns Policy

• Return Window: returns and exchanges are accepted within 30 days of delivery.
• Return Process: contact us at elena@kizima.us with your order number and reason for return. We will provide return authorization and instructions.
• Refunds: once we receive and inspect the returned item, a refund is issued to your original payment method within 10 business days. Original shipping fees are non-refundable.
