Among the hundreds of pieces we've handcrafted in our Brooklyn workshop, one shape keeps returning to the top of the list: the heart. Simple in outline, it turns out to be one of the hardest forms to cut well in amber, and that difficulty is part of why the Heart Pendant Baltic Amber Choker has become a lasting favorite among KIZIMA® customers.
A Simple Shape, A Demanding Cut
Amber is fossilized resin, not a mineral, so it doesn't cut the way a gemstone does. Its density shifts slightly from piece to piece, and a symmetrical curve like a heart shows every inconsistency immediately — there's nowhere for an uneven edge to hide. Each pendant is shaped and polished by hand until the two lobes and the point meet in proportion, which is why no two hearts in our workshop ever come out quite identical.
Why Customers Keep Choosing It
The heart motif reads as sentimental without needing an occasion attached to it. We hear from customers who buy it for anniversaries and Valentine's Day, but just as many pick it up simply because they were drawn to the color of a particular stone. That flexibility — a piece that works as a gift or as something bought for oneself — is part of what keeps it near the top of our best-selling pieces year after year.
What Makes Each One Genuine
Every Heart Pendant is cut from 100% natural Baltic amber, sourced and finished in our Brooklyn workshop. KIZIMA® is a federally registered U.S. trademark, and our amber pieces are made using U.S. Patent Pending technology — details that matter to customers who want to know a piece is authentic and genuinely made in America, not just labeled that way.
